"Beauty is the promise of happiness” - once said famous french post-impressionist Henri Rousseau. If we ever try to cateogorise Rousseau art, we most probably will add his works to Primitivism category. But it is much more than that. At first Rousseau's style might seem childish, flat and humorously shocking. That's why he was not completely understood by art critics in his early career. Remained loyal to his technique Henri Rousseau convinced critics and gain lots of fans, one of who was Pablo Picasso. Rousseau always looked inspiration in not traditional ways - he often visited botanic gardens, read childish literature and studied animal behaviour. While adding his own imagination he managed to create live and astonishing paintings, which usually symbolises human happiness.
