Ivan Aivazovsky - russian origin and one of the greatest marine artists of all time. Aivazovsky is also recognisable as one of the most influential romantic era artists. During his very long artist's career ( 60 years) he made more than 6000 paintings, most of them picturing sea, ships, and sea battles of 19 th century. Majority of his paintings now can be found in national galleries across Russia, Armenia and Ukraine while the rest are held in private collections.
