Pieter Bruegel
Pieter Bruegel (also Brueghel) the Elder was the most significant artist of Dutch and Flemish Renaissance painting, known for his landscapes and peasant scenes. Among his greatest successes were a series of paintings, among several designs adopting many of the very individual mannerisms of his compatriot Hieronymus Bosch He painted no portraits. Pieter Bruegel specialized in genre paintings populated by peasants, often with a landscape. He is sometimes referred to as "Peasant Bruegel"
