Dutch pastor's son Van Gogh left the family home when he was just sixteen years old, but discovered himself as an artist only being a 27-year-old. Van Gogh's art is always an emphasis on color and line. Van Gogh was able to lift up to impressionistic heritage to unheard dramatic intensity of giving birth to one of the most important artistic movements of the twentieth century - Expressionism. Long ignored by art critics, after his death, Van Gogh is identified as one of the most influential artists of all time.
