Katsushika Hokusai
Katsushika Hokusai was famous artist from 19 th century Japan culture. Started to paint very early age (when he was 6 years old), Hokusai didn’t take long to make long lasting career as master of traditional ukiyo-e style. Ukiyo-e is traditional chinese and japanese genre of woodcut prints tat was popular between 17 th and 20 th century featuring mostly landscapes, history moments and tales. Hokusai’s most famous painting series is “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” one of which is “Great wave of Kanazawa” made his recognised worldwide.
